If you grew up with the SNES and loved the Turtles, this was one of those fighting games you probably rented a dozen times. It’s not Street Fighter, but it’s got that classic Konami charm—bright colors, chunky sprites, and all four turtles throwing down with weirdos like Wingnut and Armaggon. The Genesis version had more characters, but the SNES one just feels better—smoother controls, better music, and that satisfying crunch when you land a special move.
It’s not super deep, but there’s something about smashing a pizza into someone’s face as Raphael that never gets old. The roster’s small, but everyone plays differently—Donnie’s got reach, Mikey’s quick but weak, and Casey Jones is just a dude with sports equipment, which is hilarious. You’ll unlock a couple of extra fighters if you beat arcade mode, but honestly, half the fun is just seeing how far you can get with Leo’s sword spam.
Still holds up if you’re into ‘90s fighters with weird, janky charm.
