About Tarzan (g)
Tarzan for the Nintendo 64 came out in 1999, developed by Eurocom. It was one of many movie tie-in games on the system, a time when 3D platformers were everywhere. You played as Tarzan, naturally, swinging through the jungle and trying to stop Clayton the hunter.
You control Tarzan through a series of linear levels, running, climbing vines, and sliding down roots. The main goal is to progress through each stage, which often involves navigating tricky platforming sections and finding the exit. A couple of the key mechanics are the vine swinging, where you build momentum to cross large gaps, and the surfboarding sections where you slide down slopes on your belly. The game can be surprisingly difficult in spots, with some precise jumps required. It feels like a straightforward, physical adventure where you are constantly in motion.
