Man, Tarzan on N64 takes me back. You start off swinging through the jungle like you'd expect, but what surprised me was how good the movement actually feels—grabbing vines has this satisfying momentum where you really gotta time your jumps right or you'll faceplant into a tree. The levels mix climbing, swimming (watch out for those piranhas), and some surprisingly tense chases where you're outrunning leopards or dodging falling boulders.
Graphics were solid for the time, with these bright, leafy canopies and deep caves that actually make the jungle feel alive. And yeah, it follows the movie's story, but there are enough little platforming twists—like sliding down roots or balancing on narrow branches—to keep it from feeling like a lazy tie-in. Just don't get too cocky with the vine swings; the collision detection can be a bit unforgiving.
It's one of those licensed games that actually holds up if you're into classic 3D platformers.
