Oh man, Tamagotchi on Game Boy—talk about a nostalgia trip. You start with this little egg that hatches into a weird pixel creature, and suddenly you're checking on it every 20 minutes like it's a real pet. Forget to feed it? It gets grumpy. Ignore it too long? Well... let's just say you don't want to see the "game over" screen.
The mini-games are simple but weirdly satisfying, like guessing which direction your Tamagotchi will face or playing a clumsy version of whack-a-mole. And watching it evolve based on how well (or poorly) you take care of it? That part still hooks me. Some turn into cool aliens, others into... let's call them "experiments."
It's definitely a product of its time—no fancy graphics, no deep mechanics—but there's something about that tiny digital responsibility that still works. Just don't blame me when you catch yourself sneaking a peek at your Game Boy during lunch to see if it needs a snack.
