This one's a weird little Game Boy gem—Takahashi Meijin no Boukenjima III, aka Adventure Island III outside Japan. You’re basically this tiny dude in a loincloth hopping across islands, dodging fruit-throwing monkeys and rolling boulders like some kind of prehistoric parkour expert. The controls feel stiff at first (it is an old Game Boy title), but once you get the rhythm of the jumps and figure out which power-ups are worth grabbing, it’s oddly satisfying.
There’s something charming about how chaotic it gets—one minute you’re riding a skateboard downhill dodging snails, the next you’re chucking boomerangs at angry octopuses. The music’s got that classic chiptune bounciness too. Not the deepest game, but perfect for short bursts of nostalgia. Just don’t expect modern platformer polish.
