Okay, so Sydney 2000 on N64 is basically that early 2000s Olympic fever crammed into a cartridge. You’ve got your usual suspects—100m dash, swimming, archery—all with that janky-but-charming N64 polygonal look. The controls take a second to get used to (mashing buttons for sprinting feels like a workout itself), but once you get the rhythm, it’s weirdly satisfying.
Multiplayer’s where it shines, though. Nothing like watching your friend faceplant in the long jump because they timed the run-up wrong. The events are hit or miss—some feel way too stiff, but others, like weightlifting, have this dumb tension where you’re sweating over button combos like it’s a fighting game. Definitely a "laugh at how ridiculous it gets" kind of party game rather than a serious sim.
Also, that prototype tag means some events are rougher than others—archery’s cursor moves like it’s stuck in molasses. Still, if you’re into goofy early sports games, it’s a nostalgia trip with just enough chaos to keep it interesting.
