About Sword Master
Sword Master came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, developed by Athena Co., Ltd. It was part of that late NES era where action games were trying to pack in more complex mechanics before the 16-bit consoles took over. You control a lone warrior exploring a side scrolling world filled with monsters and traps.
Your main goal is to fight through various stages, defeating enemies and bosses to progress. The game uses a screen by screen exploration structure; you clear all the enemies on one screen to move to the next. Combat relies on your sword for close attacks and a bow for hitting distant foes, requiring you to switch between them as situations change.
