Swamp Thing on GB is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that somehow makes slogging through a swamp feel fun. You start off with this hulking green monster—half plant, half rage—punching through gators and leaping over pits in that classic chunky-pixel style. The controls take a second to get used to (why does he jump like he’s underwater?), but once you do, it’s oddly satisfying to smash through enemies like a soggy Hulk.
The levels get surprisingly creative—one minute you’re dodging quicksand, the next you’re climbing vines while some mutant frog tries to knock you off. And yeah, the music’s exactly what you’d expect: eerie bleeps that sound like a malfunctioning swamp radio. Not gonna lie, it’s janky in places, but that’s part of the charm. If you’ve got a soft spot for weird retro platformers, this one’s worth a play.
