Susume! Taisen Puzzle Dama Toukon! Marumata Chou (yeah, that’s a mouthful) is one of those N64 puzzle games that somehow flew under the radar outside Japan. It’s basically a competitive tile-matching brawler—think Puyo Puyo but with way more chaotic energy. You drop colored orbs, chain combos, and watch as your mess of a board dumps garbage tiles onto your opponent’s side. Simple in theory, but the speed ramps up fast.
The art’s got that late-’90s anime charm, all bright colors and exaggerated expressions when someone’s about to get wrecked. There’s a single-player mode, but the real fun is the multiplayer—nothing like watching a friend panic as their screen fills up because you pulled off some ridiculous five-chain. The controls take a second to click (rotating pieces feels weird at first), but once it does, it’s pure chaos. Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into fast-paced puzzle battles.
