Super Robot Taisen on the Game Boy is one of those classic tactical RPGs where you command a squad of mechs from different anime series—think Gundam, Mazinger, and more. The sprites are tiny but packed with charm, and the turn-based battles actually feel pretty strategic for an early handheld game.
At first, I thought the chibi-style robots would be too simple, but positioning matters way more than you'd expect. One wrong move and your heavy hitter gets swarmed. The music’s got that classic Game Boy synth vibe, too—kinda grating after a while, but weirdly nostalgic.
If you’re into retro mech games or just want to see where the SRW series started, this one’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t expect flashy animations.
