Super R.C. Pro-Am came out for the Game Boy in 1991, developed by Rare. It was part of that early wave of handheld racing games, a time when getting a decent portable racer felt like a small miracle. The screen was small, the action was fast, and you had to make every pixel count.

You control a tiny radio-controlled car from an overhead view, racing against three computer opponents on tight, winding tracks. The main goal is simple: finish first. To help you, you can pick up scattered power-ups like missiles to blast rivals ahead of you, shields for protection, and turbo boosts for a quick burst of speed. You also collect letters spelling "Nintendo" for an extra life. The tracks are littered with oil slicks and puddles that send you spinning, and the computer cars are relentless, making the difficulty spike noticeably as you progress. It feels like a constant, frantic scramble for position and power-ups just to stay in the race.
