About Super Pitfall
Super Pitfall came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986, published by Activision. It was their first release for a Nintendo console, an attempt to bring the classic Pitfall exploration into a more complex, scrolling world.
You control Harry, navigating a large, interconnected map screen by screen. Your goal is to find the Raj diamond and rescue your niece Rhonda and a cat named Quickclaw. You have a gun for dealing with enemies, but ammunition is scarce and must be found. The game relies heavily on discovering hidden warp zones and items, often requiring very precise jumps to access them. Progress feels slow because the layout is so cryptic, demanding either a perfect memory or a hand-drawn map. Playing it is a deliberate, often frustrating test of patience.
