Super Momotarou Dentetsu II on Game Boy is one of those weirdly addictive board game hybrids where you roll dice, buy properties, and try to bankrupt your opponents—except here, you're also dealing with trains, Japanese folklore, and some seriously retro pixel art. The first time I played, I thought it was just Monopoly with a Japanese skin, but there's way more going on. You've got random events, power-ups, and this weirdly satisfying loop of buying stations and watching your rivals scramble when you land on their turf.
The economy part is surprisingly deep—you can invest in stocks, upgrade properties, and even screw over the AI by buying up key routes. It's got that classic "one more turn" energy, especially when you're just a few yen away from taking over someone's entire railway empire. And yeah, the graphics are pure 90s Game Boy charm, all chunky sprites and bright colors.
If you're into retro strategy games that don't take themselves too seriously, this one's a blast. Just don't be surprised when you lose an hour to it without realizing.
