Super Kick Off on the Game Boy is one of those classic football sims that feels way deeper than it looks. At first glance, it's just tiny pixelated players running around, but the controls actually give you decent passing angles and shooting options—way more than you'd expect from a handheld game in the '90s.
You start off picking your team (I always went with Italy for some reason, even though the stats barely matter) and diving straight into a match. The AI isn't brutal, but it's not a pushover either—you'll need to actually time your tackles and think about positioning. And yeah, the graphics are basic, but there's something weirdly satisfying about nailing a long-range shot with those chunky sprites.
It's definitely a product of its time, but if you're into retro sports games, this one holds up better than most. Just don't expect FIFA-level realism.
