Super Chinese 3 is the last NES game in the series—kinda bittersweet if you’ve played the others. It’s got that classic beat-em-up feel but with a weirdly satisfying mix of RPG elements. You pick between two characters (I always go for the girl, her kicks are brutal), and then it’s just you, some questionable hitboxes, and a ton of enemies to punch into next week.
It’s not the prettiest or smoothest game on the Famicom, but there’s something charming about how chaotic it gets when the screen fills up with bad guys. Also, the power-ups are ridiculous in the best way—nothing like finding a random scroll that turns you into a tornado of fists for a few seconds.
If you’re into old-school brawlers with a little extra depth, this one’s a solid way to kill an afternoon.
