Super Chinese 2 - Dragon Kid is one of those weird, charming NES games that never made it outside Japan. You play as this little kid who somehow fights with a giant wooden mallet—like, he just smacks enemies into the sky like they're golf balls. The controls are simple, but the levels get surprisingly tricky with hidden paths and weird platforming sections where you have to time your jumps just right.
It’s got that classic NES vibe where everything’s bright and colorful, but the difficulty spikes out of nowhere. One minute you’re casually bonking enemies, the next you’re getting wrecked by a boss that takes up half the screen. There’s a two-player mode too, which is chaotic in the best way—just don’t expect deep combat or anything. It’s pure, dumb fun.
If you’re into obscure retro games with personality, this one’s a hidden gem. Just be ready for some jank.
