About Super Chase H.q. (usa, Europe)
Super Chase H.Q. came out for the Game Boy in 1993, published by Taito. It was part of that wave of arcade-style action games trying to fit a bigger experience into the handheld's small screen. You got a pocket-sized version of the car chase action the series was known for, which was a decent attempt for the hardware at the time.
You control a police sports car, driving through city streets from an overhead view. Your main job is to ram a suspect's vehicle until its health bar depletes, forcing it to stop. The core mechanics involve weaving through traffic to catch up, then hitting the other car repeatedly without wrecking your own. The game is split into stages, and the pacing is fast; you have a strict time limit for each mission. It feels frantic and direct, a simple test of reflexes and persistence on the go.
