Super Battletank on the Game Boy is basically the portable little brother of the NES original—same gritty tank combat, just crammed into that tiny green screen. You're rolling through desert landscapes, blasting enemy vehicles while trying not to get shredded by helicopters (those things are brutal).
Controls take a second to get used to—turning the turret feels a bit stiff at first, but once you get the hang of lining up shots while dodging return fire, it clicks. The missions throw in some variety too, like escorting convoys or holding positions against waves of enemies. Not bad for something you could play in the backseat of a car in 1991.
If you liked the NES version, this one’s a solid pocket-sized follow-up.
