Super B-Daman - Fighting Phoenix is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that never left Japan. It's basically a turn-based battle game where you launch marbles at your opponent—kinda like a mix of pinball and tactical combat. The sprites are tiny but surprisingly detailed, and the whole thing has that classic early '90s anime vibe.
At first, I thought it was just a simple shooter, but there's actually some strategy to it—you've got different B-Daman with unique stats, and terrain actually matters. The controls take a second to get used to (hold A to charge, release to fire), but once it clicks, it's weirdly satisfying to nail a perfect ricochet shot.
Definitely a niche pick, but if you're into obscure retro games or grew up with B-Daman toys, it's a fun little time capsule.
