About Sunday Funday
Sunday Funday came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, published by Wisdom Tree, a company that started as Color Dreams. It was one of the last new games released for the NES in the United States, and like other Wisdom Tree titles, it wasn't officially licensed by Nintendo. This placed it on the fringes of the NES library, a curiosity from the system's final years.
You control a kid on a skateboard who is late for Sunday school. Your goal is to travel from the left side of the screen to the right, navigating platforms and obstacles. You jump on your skateboard to attack enemies like bullies and businessmen by bouncing on them; you can also pick up items such as newspapers and grapefruits to throw. The game progresses screen by screen, and the challenge comes from precise jumps and dealing with enemy patterns. It feels like a straightforward, slightly janky platformer from that era.
