I picked up Sumo Fighter for the Game Boy back when it was a new release. It was developed by Atelier Double and published by I'Max, a title that fit right in with the handheld's library of quirky, compact games. You don't hear much about it now, but it was one of those straightforward action games that felt perfectly suited for short bursts of play.

You control a sumo wrestler, and your main goal is to push your opponents out of the ring. The core mechanic is a simple charge and shove; you build up power and then lunge forward. You fight through a series of one-on-one matches, screen by screen, with each victory moving you to the next, more difficult opponent. The pacing is quick, and the challenge ramps up noticeably as you progress, demanding better timing with each new fighter. It feels like a test of reflexes and patience, a simple but tense back-and-forth.
