About Strategic Confrontation
Strategic Confrontation was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System, though I don't recall who made it. It's one of those NES titles that came out when the system was already full of side-scrollers and action games, but this one tried something a bit different.
You control a single character navigating through a series of interconnected screens, each presenting a new tactical puzzle. Your main goal is to reach the end of each stage by outmaneuvering enemies rather than just fighting them directly. The game relies on screen-by-screen exploration and a turn-based system where you and the enemies take moves in sequence. You collect special items that grant new abilities, like temporary shields or movement boosts, which are essential for surviving later areas. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you rush. It feels like a constant test of your patience and foresight.
