Starshot is one of those weird, late-era N64 games that feels like it got lost in the shuffle—which is a shame, because it’s got this bizarre charm. You play as a space circus acrobat (yes, really) bouncing between planets with this janky but kinda fun jetpack. The controls take some getting used to—expect to overshoot platforms a lot at first—but once it clicks, there’s something satisfying about flinging yourself through these trippy, low-poly alien worlds.
The levels are all over the place in the best way: one minute you’re dodging giant disco balls in a zero-gravity theater, the next you’re getting chased by sentient slot machines. It’s not the tightest platformer on the system, but the sheer creativity makes up for it. Just don’t expect Mario 64 polish—this is more of a "late-night pizza and weird vibes" kind of game.
Oh, and the soundtrack? Unironically great. Like someone fed a 90s arcade cabinet into a black hole and recorded the echoes.
