Okay, so Stargate On GB is basically what happens when someone takes that classic sci-fi adventure vibe and squeezes it into a Game Boy cartridge. You start off stepping through the gate—yep, that iconic whoosh—and bam, you're on some weird planet with pixelated aliens and ruins that look like they’ve been sitting there for centuries.

The first planet I landed on had these little crab-like things skittering around, and I’ll admit, I panicked a little when they started swarming. Combat’s simple but satisfying—just enough to keep you on your toes without feeling unfair. And the puzzles? Some are obvious, but others make you stop and actually think, which I wasn’t expecting from a Game Boy title.

What really got me was the art style. It’s got that chunky, nostalgic pixel look, but with just enough detail to make each planet feel distinct. One minute you’re in a desert with twin suns, the next you’re dodging neon vines in some overgrown jungle. If you ever wished you could shove a Stargate episode into your pocket, this is pretty much it.
