Man, Star Wars Episode I - Racer on N64 still holds up. You jump straight into those insane podraces from the movie—you know, the ones where Anakin’s just a kid screaming through canyons at ridiculous speeds. The controls feel a little slippery at first (those pods don’t exactly handle like cars), but once you get the hang of drifting around tight turns without smashing into rock walls, it’s pure adrenaline.
You’ve got a bunch of racers to pick from, each with their own weird little quirks. Some pods are faster but fall apart if you sneeze on them, others are tanks that plow through debris. And the tracks? Huge, chaotic, full of shortcuts you’ll miss the first five times. That Boonta Eve Classic course is still a nightmare in the best way—sand people shooting at you, those narrow tunnels where one wrong move sends you spinning into oblivion.
It’s janky in that classic N64 way, but man, when you hit a perfect lap and leave Sebulba in the dust, nothing beats it. Just try not to overheat your engines.
