Okay, so Battle for Naboo is basically the underrated cousin of Rogue Squadron on the N64. You’re flying Naboo’s weirdly elegant starfighters (you know, the ones that look like fancy cutlery) through canyons, blasting Trade Federation droids, and occasionally hopping into a tank or speeder for some ground action. The controls feel a little stiff at first—takes a minute to stop crashing into palm trees—but once you get the hang of it, weaving through those canyon runs while lasers zip past is legit satisfying.
Also, the mission variety is sneaky good. One minute you’re escorting a hover-barge through a swamp, the next you’re bombing droid factories at sunset. And yeah, it’s got that late-90s Star Wars prequel vibe hard—expect a lot of brass fanfares and Naboo guards looking vaguely stressed. Not gonna lie, some of the ground vehicle bits drag, but the space battles? Pure N64-era joy.
If you’ve ever wanted to pretend you’re in a deleted scene from The Phantom Menace, this is your chance.
