Star Twins is one of those N64 Japan-exclusive gems that never made it overseas, which is a shame because it’s got this weirdly satisfying dual-character thing going on. You control two siblings—one’s a brawler, the other’s more agile—and swapping between them on the fly is way smoother than you’d expect for an N64 game. The puzzles actually make you think, not just "hit switch A to open door B" stuff.
First ten minutes? You’re dropped into this neon-drenched city with zero handholding, figuring out how to use both characters to climb, fight, and unlock paths. The art style’s got that late-90s anime vibe, all chunky polygons and bold colors. Combat’s a bit janky, but once you get the rhythm of switching mid-combo, it clicks. Definitely not another generic platformer—it’s got its own weird charm.
If you’re into obscure N64 action games with actual personality, this one’s worth digging up.
