Okay, so this is basically a weird little Game Boy adaptation of Star Trek: TNG—and yeah, it’s as janky as you’d expect from a 90s handheld port. You get to play as Picard (or Riker, if you’re feeling spicy) and shuffle around the Enterprise dealing with random space threats. The graphics are pure Game Boy nostalgia—blocky, but weirdly charming if you’re into that retro look.
Gameplay’s a mix of turn-based ship battles and some light exploration, though don’t expect anything too deep. The controls take a minute to get used to, and the enemy AI isn’t exactly brilliant, but there’s something oddly satisfying about ordering phaser volleys on that tiny screen. If you’re a hardcore Trekkie, it’s a fun novelty, but don’t go in expecting a masterpiece. Just blast some Klingons and enjoy the pixelated LCARS interface.
