Okay, so Star Trek: 25th Anniversary on Game Boy is basically a tiny, chunky-pixel version of the classic PC adventure—and honestly, it’s kind of impressive they crammed this much Trek into a cartridge. You’re Kirk, obviously, yelling at Spock for being logical while weird space anomalies try to murder your crew.
The first 10 minutes go like this: You’re immediately thrown into some wonky top-down ship combat (phasers make satisfying *pew* noises), then scrambling to solve a puzzle by poking at pixelated alien artifacts. The dialogue’s straight out of the show—cheesy, but in that good way where you can almost hear Shatner’s dramatic pauses.
It’s janky by modern standards, but if you’re into retro Trek vibes, there’s something weirdly charming about negotiating with a blob monster on a 2-inch screen. Just don’t expect the away missions to make sense on the first try.
