About Star Sweep (japan)
Star Sweep came out in Japan in 1992 for the Game Boy, published by Nintendo. It was one of many puzzle games on the system, a time when developers were experimenting with new ways to fit complex mechanics onto that small green screen.
You control a cursor that picks up and drops numbered blocks onto a grid. The main goal is to clear the board by making blocks add up to ten. Your main tools are a sweep move that collects all blocks in a row and a swap function to rearrange them. The game starts calmly but the pace quickens as new blocks rise from the bottom, forcing you to plan several moves ahead. It feels like a quiet, persistent battle against a steadily climbing wall of numbers.
