Star Force is one of those classic NES shooters that feels simple at first—just you, a tiny ship, and a never-ending swarm of enemy formations. But man, does it get intense fast. The screen scrolls upward automatically, and you’re dodging bullets while trying to line up shots on these geometric enemy patterns that almost feel like they’re taunting you.

What I love is how clean it looks—no frills, just sharp pixel art and tight controls. The power-ups are straightforward (grab the floating orbs for better weapons), but the real challenge comes from the sheer number of things trying to kill you at once. And that soundtrack? Pure 8-bit adrenaline. It’s the kind of game where you’ll lean forward without realizing it, gripping the controller a little too tight by stage 3.

If you’re into old-school shmups, this one’s a must-play—just don’t blame me when you start seeing enemy formations in your sleep.
