About Stack-up
Stack-Up came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, developed by Nintendo R&D1. It was part of that early wave of NES games that experimented with different kinds of play, moving beyond straightforward action titles.
You control Professor Hector, a small character who must clear puzzles by stacking colored blocks. The main goal is to match blocks of the same color and shape into vertical columns, which makes them disappear. You move the professor around the screen to pick up blocks from the bottom of a stack and carry them to the top of another. The challenge comes from the physics; blocks can fall if the stack becomes unstable, and you have to work quickly before the screen fills. It feels like a careful, deliberate race against a slowly rising pile of shapes.
