You control a team of players on a small, top-down field. The main goal is to outscore your opponent by moving the ball downfield and getting touchdowns. You choose plays from a small selection before the snap, then control the quarterback to pass or hand off the ball. The game moves screen by screen; when you reach the edge, the view shifts to the next section of the field. Defensive control is limited, mostly relying on your pre-snap formation choices. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving with instant turnovers on fumbles. It feels like a stripped-down version of football, where a single mistake can cost you the game.
