Sports Collection Game

Sports Collection on Game Boy is one of those old-school compilations that somehow makes pixelated basketball and soccer way more intense than they should be. You start it up, pick a sport—I always go for soccer first—and suddenly you're mashing buttons trying to outmaneuver blocky little athletes who move like they’ve had too much caffeine. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you do, it’s weirdly satisfying.
The graphics are pure nostalgia, all chunky sprites and basic animations, but that’s part of the charm. Basketball feels like a chaotic scramble, soccer’s got that janky sliding physics, and honestly, I still don’t fully understand the rules of the boxing mini-game. It’s the kind of thing you play in short bursts, either to kill time or to prove to your friends that yes, you can score a three-pointer with a tiny Game Boy D-pad. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro sports games, this one’s a solid time capsule.
