About South Park Rally
South Park Rally came out for the Nintendo 64 in 2000, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was one of several games trying to capture the show's humor on consoles during that period. You got to race as the kids from the show, which was a big part of the appeal if you were a fan back then.
You control characters like Cartman or Stan, driving karts through locations from the town. The main goal is to win races by finishing first, but you spend a lot of time shooting weapons at the other drivers. You collect items like cow launchers and alien probes to disrupt opponents, and you can perform drifts to build up a temporary speed boost. The tracks are filled with shortcuts and hazards, making the races chaotic. The game moves at a fast pace, and the difficulty can spike on later courses. It feels like a messy, loud party where anything can happen in a race.
