South Park for the Nintendo 64 came out in 1998, published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was one of those games that tried to capture the show's humor during a time when the N64 library was full of platformers and adventures. You could tell they wanted to make something that felt like an episode you could play.
You control one of the four main kids, like Stan or Kyle, running around the snowy town fighting various enemies, including turkeys and the other boys from your class. The main goal is to save South Park from an alien invasion, which involves completing missions for different characters. The gameplay is a first person shooter where you use weapons like snowballs and cow launchers; you also explore the town screen by screen and collect Chinpokomon toys. It can feel repetitive after a while, and the difficulty comes more from the awkward controls than complex enemy patterns. Playing it feels like navigating a clunky but strangely faithful interpretation of the show's world.
