Ever played a Game Boy game that makes you feel like you chugged three espressos? Soreyuke! Speedy Gonzales is basically that—a chaotic, fast-paced side-scroller where you play as the fastest mouse in Mexico, dodging traps and scooping up cheese like your life depends on it. The controls are simple (run, jump, occasionally throw a punch), but the levels get wild fast—one minute you're outrunning a rolling cactus, the next you're hopping between speeding trains.
It's got that classic 90s Konami energy—bright colors, weird enemy designs (why is there a sombrero-wearing bull?), and music that somehow gets stuck in your head despite the tinny Game Boy sound. Not gonna lie, some of the later stages feel borderline unfair, but that just makes nailing a perfect run even more satisfying. If you're into retro platformers that don't take themselves seriously, this one's a weird little gem.
