About Solitaire
I remember picking up Solitaire for the original Game Boy, a title released in 1998 by Nintendo. It was one of those simple, portable games that fit right into the era, a time when you could carry a full deck of cards in your pocket without any fuss. There was nothing flashy about it, just a straightforward digital version of the classic card game you could play anywhere, anytime.
You control the cursor to move cards around the tableau, trying to build four foundation piles up from ace to king, each in its own suit. The main objective is to clear the entire board by sequencing cards in descending order while alternating colors. Key mechanics include drawing cards from the stockpile one or three at a time, depending on the rule setting, and recycling through the waste pile when you run out of moves. The game moves at your own pace, with no timer, but the random shuffle can make some deals surprisingly difficult to solve. It feels quietly satisfying to slowly untangle a messy layout and see the cards fall into place.
