Soldam is one of those weird little puzzle games that slipped under the radar back in the Game Boy days. It's like if Tetris and Puyo Puyo had a baby, but with a weird fruit-matching twist. You stack these colored orbs, and when four of the same touch, they burst—except sometimes they don't, and you're left sweating as the pile creeps toward the top.

The Japanese version has this oddly cheerful soundtrack that doesn't match how tense it gets when your stack's about to topple. I remember getting stuck on the third stage for way too long because I kept trying to set up big combos instead of just surviving. Classic mistake.

It's not the deepest puzzler out there, but there's something satisfying about the way the orbs clunk into place. If you're into obscure retro games, it's a neat little time-waster.
