Solar Jetman - Hunt For The Golden Warpship (europe) Game
📅 1991 ✍️ Rare

Solar Jetman is one of those NES games that looks simple until you actually play it. You pilot this little jet pod across weird alien planets, but gravity’s always pulling at you, and half the time you’re dragging some awkward piece of cargo behind you like a reluctant space tow truck. The controls take a minute to get used to—your pod drifts if you let go of the thrust, so you’re constantly adjusting.
Oh, and then there are the enemies. They’re not just shooting at you—they’re also trying to steal your cargo, which is usually some fragile artifact you’re supposed to haul back to your mothership. Lose it, and you’re backtracking to grab it again. The planets get progressively weirder, with different gravity strengths and hazards, so just when you think you’ve got the hang of it, the game throws something new at you. It’s frustrating in that classic NES way, but weirdly satisfying when you finally nail a tricky landing.
Also, that title—Hunt for the Golden Warpship? Yeah, good luck with that. It’s buried deep in the later levels, and by then, you’ll have crashed into enough walls to question your life choices.
