Snowboard Kids 2 came out in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, published by Atlus. It was part of that wave of colorful, multiplayer focused games that really defined the N64 library for a lot of people. While it wasn't the most famous title on the system, it had a strong following among those who discovered it.

You control one of several kids racing down snowy courses on a snowboard. The main goal is straightforward: finish first in a series of races against other characters. The gameplay mixes standard racing with item pickups you can use to attack opponents or defend yourself, similar to mechanics in kart racers. A key feature is the ability to perform tricks after launching off jumps; landing these tricks successfully fills a special meter that lets you temporarily move much faster. The courses are multi-lap affairs with branching paths and environmental hazards to avoid. The pacing is generally quick, though the computer opponents can be surprisingly aggressive in later cups. It feels like a chaotic, lighthearted competition where a well-timed item or a perfect trick jump can completely turn a race around.
