Snow Brothers is one of those NES gems that’s way more fun than it has any right to be. You play as these little snowball-throwing dudes, and your whole deal is turning enemies into giant snowballs by pelting them—then kicking those snowballs into other enemies like some kind of icy bowling champion. The first few levels ease you in, but before long, you’re bouncing between platforms, dodging weird little monsters, and figuring out the best angles to send snowballs rolling.
The controls are simple (arrows to move, Z/X to throw), but the real fun comes from the chaos of clearing entire screens by chaining snowball hits. Some enemies take more hits than others, and the bosses? They’re gloriously weird—like a giant pumpkin that spits fire. It’s got that perfect arcadey feel where you’ll fail a level, immediately restart, and somehow lose an hour without noticing.
If you’re into old-school platformers, this one’s a blast—especially with a friend in co-op. Just don’t blame me when you start humming the music for days.
