You control a lone character who can move in any direction and fire weapons independently, a dual-stick style of play that was rare on the NES. Your goal is to clear each single-screen arena of all the robotic and humanoid enemies that pour in from the edges. The signature mechanics are this free aiming, the constant collection of keys to open exit doors, and grabbing the various prizes like toasters and VCRs that appear between waves. The pacing is relentless; enemies spawn continuously, and the difficulty escalates quickly, demanding quick reflexes and smart positioning to avoid being cornered.
