I remember picking up Small Soldiers for the Game Boy back in 1998. It was developed by Tiertex and published by THQ, a pretty typical licensed game for the handheld at that time. You didn't see many titles based on movies on the Game Boy, so it always stood out in my collection, even if it wasn't a blockbuster.

You control Archer, the Gorgonite leader, on a mission to rescue your fellow Gorgonites from the Commandos. The game plays out across side scrolling levels where you run, jump, and use a slingshot to defeat enemy soldiers. You explore each area screen by screen, often needing to find keys or hit switches to open new paths. The pacing is deliberate, and some jumps require precise timing, which can be tricky on the small screen. It feels like a straightforward action platformer where your main goal is to survive long enough to free your friends.
