Oh man, Bart vs. The Space Mutants is one of those NES games that seems way cooler than it actually is at first glance. You run around as Bart trying to stop these goofy purple aliens from... doing whatever evil alien stuff they're up to. Mostly that means shooting stuff with your slingshot or spraying paint on random objects (for some reason).

The controls are kinda stiff, and some jumps feel like they require pixel-perfect timing. I remember getting stuck early on because I didn't realize you had to spray-paint all the purple objects in the first level—took me forever to figure that out. The mall level's actually pretty fun once you get the hang of it, though.

It's got that classic 90s licensed game jank, but there's some weird charm to it if you're into retro challenges. Just don't expect it to play as smoothly as it looks on the box art.
