Silver Surfer on NES is one of those games that looks amazing—until you actually play it. The graphics are slick for the time, with detailed sprites and parallax scrolling that makes you feel like you're flying through space. But man, the difficulty spikes like crazy. One second you're dodging asteroids, the next you're getting swarmed by enemies from every angle.
The controls are simple—dodge, shoot, try not to die—but the level design feels like it's actively working against you. Some of the later stages are borderline unfair, and the hit detection can be a little wonky. Still, there's something weirdly satisfying about mastering its chaos, especially when you finally beat a level that's been wrecking you for hours.
If you're into old-school shooters and don't mind a challenge, it's worth a shot. Just don't say I didn't warn you.
