Silkworm on the NES is one of those weirdly fun shooters where you pick between a helicopter or a jeep—both handle totally differently, and the jeep somehow feels faster even though it's stuck on the ground. The levels are short but brutal, with enemy tanks and planes swarming in from all sides. I kept dying at first because I underestimated how chaotic the screen gets when bullets and explosions are everywhere.
What’s cool is the two-player mode—one person flies the chopper while the other drives the jeep, and you actually have to work together instead of just blasting everything solo. The music’s got that classic NES chiptune energy, too—simple but catchy. Just don’t expect a deep story or anything; it’s pure arcade-style action from start to finish.
If you like old-school shooters that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a solid pick.
