About Shockwave (unl)
Shockwave was an unlicensed cartridge for the Nintendo Entertainment System, a game that appeared outside the official library. It was developed by Color Dreams, a company known for releasing games without Nintendo's approval, which placed it in that peculiar category of NES titles you'd sometimes find in discount bins or through mail order. This was just one of many games trying to carve out a space during the console's peak years.
You control a soldier navigating through a series of side-scrolling levels. Your main objective is to fight through enemy forces and survive the onslaught. The gameplay involves running and gunning; you shoot constantly at waves of soldiers, robots, and aircraft that pour in from both sides of the screen. You collect power-ups to upgrade your weapon, switching between different shot types to handle the increasing threats. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty escalates quickly, demanding quick reflexes to dodge enemy fire and projectiles. It feels like a constant, hectic scramble to stay alive.
