Shin Jinrui - The New Type (japan) Game

Shin Jinrui - The New Type is one of those weird, obscure NES games that makes you go, "Wait, what is this?" at first glance. It's a Japan-only release, so unless you're fluent in moonrunes, you'll be fumbling through menus—but that's half the fun. You play as this little dude who jumps between floating platforms, dodges enemies, and collects... something (power-ups? points? honestly, I'm still not sure). The controls are janky in that classic NES way, and the music has that tinny, earworm quality you either love or hate.
It's not exactly a hidden gem, but if you're into retro oddities or just enjoy the vibe of '80s Japanese platformers, it's a neat little time capsule. The sprite work is charmingly simple, and some of the level designs get surprisingly creative. Just don't expect a masterpiece—more like a curiosity you boot up when you're bored of Mario.
