Shanghai Pocket is one of those weird little Game Boy Color gems—basically mahjong solitaire, but stripped down to its purest form. You’re matching identical tiles, clearing the board layer by layer, and it’s way more satisfying than it sounds. The controls are simple (just pick and match), but some of the later layouts get surprisingly tricky.

What I like is how chill it feels—no timers, no pressure, just you and a pile of tiles to untangle. The colors pop nicely on the GBC, too. If you’ve ever lost hours to this kind of tile-matching puzzle, you’ll know exactly what you’re getting into here.
