Shadowgate 64 is one of those weird, moody N64 adventure games that feels like a dungeon crawl mixed with old-school point-and-click puzzles. You wake up as this knight with amnesia, and right away, you're poking around a creepy castle—torch in hand, checking every nook for clues. The puzzles can be brutal (I got stuck for way too long on a dumb lever sequence), but when you finally figure one out, it’s satisfying.
The atmosphere’s the real star here—dimly lit halls, eerie music, and that classic N64 fog making everything feel claustrophobic. It’s janky in places (of course), but if you’re into slow-burn fantasy adventures where you scribble notes like some medieval detective, this one’s got a weird charm. Just don’t expect fast-paced action—half the time, you’re staring at a door wondering what you missed.
